The Ugly Grouper: Your Go-To Destination for Seafood, Live Music, and Family Fun

This place is fantastic. We stopped in after walking over at Robinson Preserve on a beautiful day in January. The live acoustic music was really nice and at the perfect volume, not too loud. The grouper tacos, clam chowder, and island chicken sandwich were all phenomenal. Also shout out to Sam for the great service!

Great live music, STRONG drinks, wonderful food. Huge outdoor tables that accommodated all 10 of us with no issue. Only short fall was the wait time after we ordered our food (20-30min) and the parking situation. If it's a common dinner time (5pm on a Friday, like when we were there) expect to be parking on a side street. Not a big issue, and the walk is good for your health! Happy hour is from 3-5p. Plenty of space for kids to run around and play too; ring hook game, corn hole, giant jenga, large fish with light up eyes. Rob B was our waiter, great guy all around.

Great relaxed experience and fabulous grouper taco, plus chips. Everything we saw go out looked great. If you're a hazy beer lover, run & try the UG Hazy IPA. Olivia was a super fab waitress!

We love the ugly grouper! Stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat for dinner & had another great experience (as usual)! To eat, we had the grouper tacos and the fish and chips. There’s a reason the grouper tacos are a top pick - the cheese shell really take the tacos to the next level. While a tid bit on the messy side, it’s well worth it!!

This was our very first dinner during our stay on AMI. The outside patio is great and they had awesome live music. The band was interactive and gave my son a tambourine to play with while all the kids danced. We ordered the crab cake fried green tomatoes and the grouper nugget dinner with pineapple coleslaw and Caribbean rice. I personally do not like coleslaw but theirs was absolutely delicious! We ordered the fish & chips for my son and he loved it too! Once more of our friends made it to town we all met up there for a group dinner another night and it was awesome. Everyone enjoyed themselves and they can accommodate large tables. Highly recommend!

Our server was the sweetest. We are traveling and she told us about some tourist attractions. The menu has something for everyone. We went on a Thursday for lunch and they had live music. Great cocktails

Absolutely phenomenal food, everything that came out was hot, big portioned and delicious, and it came out super fast! Everyone is so welcoming and the atmosphere is amazing. Alivia was an amazing waitress! I especially like the beer keg urinal in the bathroom .

Had such a great time at The Ugly Grouper. The drinks were amazing. Fresh, well balanced, and exactly what you want when you are enjoying the island atmosphere. You can tell they care about quality. The grouper tacos were truly one of a kind. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Not your typical fish taco at all. These are the kind you think about later and wish you had ordered another round. Fun vibe, great service, and food that absolutely delivers. We will definitely be back.
